| P&MM continues winning streak with further accolades |
| Following on the success of its recent awards win at the Employee Benefits Awards 2008, P&MM is still on a real winning streak for its work with Nottingham City Council on a bespoke and innovative staff benefits package. At the recent HR Excellence Awards 2008, P&MM added further trophies to its cabinet by scooping the 'Most Effective Benefits Strategy' and 'Most Effective Use of Internal Communications' awards before going on to win the overall 'HR Excellence Gold Award'. Entitled Work Perks, Nottingham City Council's employee benefits programme created by P&MM received praise from the judges who described it as a "beacon of good practice". There was particular mention of P&MM's products greentravel2work and cycles2work, which enable staff to purchase bicycles and annual bus passes through their salary, generating savings on NI and tax contributions. These products have been designed to encourage staff to use more environmentally friendly methods of travel in alignment with the Council's green agenda. Council staff also receive discounts on the costs of childcare, healthcare, entertainment, leisure, food, home, ethical products and other lifestyle perks. Richard Davies, head of employee benefits at P&MM, said: "These recent award wins offer a powerful independent testament that The Nottingham City Council Work Perks scheme really is "best in class". We have worked very closely with the Council in creating a full package of benefits that offers an appealing proposition to all staff that helps to improve motivation, morale and retention within the organisation." He continued: "The real success comes with the number of Council employees that have now benefited from this programme, but the HR Excellence Gold Award will certainly take pride and place alongside P&MM's other recent accolades. We are delighted to gain this recognition at these prestigious Awards." Portfolio holder for human resources, customer services and consultation at Nottingham City Council, Councillor Eunice Campbell, said: "We value our staff and Works Perks helps us to reward them and to present ourselves as an employer of choice for local job seekers. We've seen a 20% increase in city residents being members of City Council staff in the last three years so we know it's working. It's great to have the success of Works Perks recognised nationally, showing that we are a leader in employee benefits provision." |
